CHRISTMAS BREAK - back on january 9th ! | Christmas drawing ...
For my last post of 2017 I wanted to showcase these beautiful painted bauble cards from Hammond Gower. The gorgeous colours and hand painted strokes are highlighted with metallic gold for a luxurious look. I also picked out a few more from their current Christmas range which can be found online here. This high street card retailer has nearly 400 stores in the UK and is owned by American Greetings. Today we have a sneak preview of new work from the designers at Jennifer Nelson Artists. Jennifer has a stable of ten great artists such as Jill Howarth, Bee Brown and Miriam Bos who all offer a fantastic selection of portfolio pieces. Here are just some of their winter and holiday designs available for clients and anyone visiting Heimtext in Frankfurt next month can see them in person.









Victoria Johnson is currently going Christmas design crazy after she designed some beautiful seasonal products for TAG and creating a course to offer other artists some of her expertise in creating Christmas artwork. We saw a little bit of Jennifer Orkin Lewis, aka August Wren in the last post, but her Jennifer has treated us to a whole selection of Christmas Designs. She is doing a Holiday design challenge for the first time and has never created so much Christmas art in a row so feels it is a real accomplishment!!































Jocelyn Proust has been busy participating in the annual Four Corners Art Collective #adventcalendarart daily Instagram challenge this month. It is the third year this challenge has taken place and Jocelyn has licensed a number of the designs created in previous years for calendars, fabric and stationery. Also taking part in the Four Corners Collective advent challenge is Emma McGowan, an illustrator and surface pattern designer based in Brighton. As well as working on commissions for editorial clients, Emma's art is licensed on notebooks, calendars, desk planners, fabric and greetings cards. Pippa has been joining in with her fellow artists making lots of new Christmas-themed art for their third advent calendar art challenge this December. Our Friday eye candy this week comes from Weecos, a sustainable online shopping site from Finland. Weecos enables designers from all over the world to showcase their wares via it's well designed platform and I've picked out a few highlights from my recent browsing session here. These Christmas cards come from Scribble & Daub, a UK company based in East Sussex. Each design is created as an imperfect pen and ink drawing, before being letterpress printed and then individually hand painted so each one is unique.

Finnish designer Heidi Valkola has produced these colourful Christmas cards for 2017. Heidi also has some lovely designs featuring polar bears in wintry landscapes on tableware, as well foxes and bears on blankets and leopards on height charts. If you want something a bit different from high street cards this Christmas you might like the selection from Hadley. The designs are created from original collages and drawings so you get all of the 'wonkiness and charm' of the human hand.
